Few months back Arm had unveiled its Neoverse brand. Now, it has finally launched the Neoverse N1 and E1 in an effort to augment cloud and edge applications.
The popular chipmaker is shifting gears and not only that, it seems to be having a look at the cloud and edge scene to improve the compute speeds and throughput. The launched products will give its partners a platform that will help them design new kinds of processors that will help power the cloud and edge servers of the world.
Other chip manufacturers will be able to build upon the Neoverse N1, optimized for 7nm platform, which delivers 2.5x performance improvement on key cloud workloads. The Neoverse E1 platform on the other hand will be giving the chipmakers a high-efficiency throughput platform that delivers a 2.7x improvement over the previous generations. The company wrote in its news release: “Our two new Arm Neoverse platforms, the Neoverse N1 platform and the Neoverse E1 platform, have been developed specifically to address this infrastructure model. Combines with Arm’s unique business model and platform enablement capabilities, we’re enabling broad innovation, extreme scale, and diverse compute solutions from out partner ecosystem.”
It is expected that the new processors coupled with the N1 and E1 platforms will start rolling out by the end of the year.
