In an effort to beef up its cloud security, Palo Alto Networks has announced that it will be acquiring a startup called Redlock. Palo Alto Networks will be acquiring the cloud security startup for $173 million.
RedLock’s Threat Defense uses a new AI-driven approach to help protect disparate security data sets. This ensures secure network traffic, user activities, and track risky configurations. You can get a unified view of risks across fragmented cloud environments with its threat defence. The acquisition will uplift the capabilities of Palo Alto networks across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure. The RedLock founders Varun Badhwar and Gaurav Kumar are going to be part of the Palo Alto Networks once the acquisition is done.
Lately, Palo Alto Networks has been on an acquisition spree. It bought a security company called Secdo in April and in March it bought another company that focuses on cloud security- Evident- for $300 million.
Palo Alto Networks has said that it will merge Evident and RedLock technologies and turn it into a single product that will provide overall cloud security. This new product is to be out early next year.
