It's an iconic facelift time for Windows 10

windows 10 icons redesign

Microsoft is all geared up to give its operating system a complete facelift. That's right; the icons on Windows 10 will now be having new ones. A couple of days back, Microsoft announced a revamp of icons on the Office 365.

This project is one of the biggest designs overhaul considered ever, Microsoft says. According to Jon Friedman, head of Office design at Microsoft, “It is a huge undertaking to build a common system and design 10 icons at the same time. Now that we have established the system we will start to scale it across all of Microsoft.”

When Microsoft had earlier introduced the icon change for the Office 365, it had hinted about an entire Windows 10 redesign. Now, the software giant is all set to roll out the latest version of the revamped icons. The icons are updated with a modern touch of concept images for apps like Photos, News, Mail, and many other built-in apps.

Although the images of these icons released as just a trailer, they're a peek at how Windows 10 will look soon. Interesting, Microsoft has decided to keep some of the icons as it is that have been the same for nearly 10 years. You may feel these icons go out of place in the redesign, but it might be Microsoft's way of holding onto periodic originality as it grows every day.
