Wilkinson Baking Company, a United States firm showcased a bread making robot at the CES trade show 2019. The robot named BreadBot can mix, proof and bake bread for you in just 6 minutes. This bot will be present at convenience stores, supermarkets, military, and schools.
Robots are gradually entering the food industry. Already there are burger-flipping robots, grillers and salad makers and now it’s time to welcome another entrant. BreadBot can produce 235 loaves of bread each day which includes varieties like wheat, whole wheat, white, nine grain, sourdough, organic, honey oat and many others.
The company said that BreadBot is 305 x 135 cm. This is designed in such a way that it can fit grocery stores. Its layout is transparent so that shoppers can be sure with the quality. Shoppers can set up the program three months in advance to get hot breads all through the day.
The BreadBot will use dry ingredients into a vessel and with the help of an app, it will set water temperature, speed of the mixer and loaf height.
"Bread is a staple of American life. But in most supermarkets today, it has lost its emotional connection with the shopper,” says Randall Wilkinson, CEO of The Wilkinson Baking Company.
Randall added that although home delivery is in trend, customers will surely walk till stores to buy fresh and delicious bread.
