Bitium: The Identity Platform for Today's IT Leader

Bitium: The Identity Platform for Today's IT Leader

Not so long ago, there was a time where softwares were bought and installed through CDs. And that was the only way companies got access to the various softwares that they needed. But then, with the advent of Software as Service (SaaS) came about and it opened the door for cloud computing. As we all know, cloud computing has been nothing short of a revolution. It has changed the way industries work, and in doing so it has also created quite a few new markets of its own.

Now, we cannot imagine of companies not taking the cloud-forward approach, without which they would probably lose significant ground to their contemporaries. But cloud computing, brings with it, its own set of challenges. One of them comes about when outdated approaches are used to minimize access to the cloud apps that are extremely important in the workplace. But by doing this, they also limit the communication and bring down the efficiency of the system. Bitium was founded on the belief that cloud apps will form the platform for many future companies and it helps those companies grow by providing identity management as a service.

Bitium was founded in 2012 with the aim of giving support to the companies that are growing. The founders Scott Kriz and Erik Gustavson worked together for a startup where speed was extremely important to keep the projects from piling up. But achieving this was a hard task. Employees use a number of cloud-based apps that need great communication. This was causing disruptions and problems. Inspired by this experience they decided to get into Identity management and founded Bitium. Companies need access to web-based applications like Google Apps, Office 365, CRM, social networks and marketing tools. Bitium gets them the access and manages their access efficiently. Bitium believes in the philosophy of create, enable, manage, and remove.

Create, enable, manage, remove and repeat!

It is pivotal for the IT security teams to control the permissions to the enterprise assets and databases. This is especially important while on-boarding and off-boarding. Bitium’s approach helps with this. They make this easier by creating new users in the cloud applications through Bitium’s platform. This changes the time it takes to conduct on-boarding/off-boarding significantly- from months to just a few hours!

Bitium makes it easy for the employees at work to get started immediately. They enable this through their single sign-on solution. Using this, employees can be granted one-click access to the cloud apps that are necessary for their respective roles. The sign-on solution makes it an extremely flexible solution. So, the employees can just access all the apps necessary through their existing credentials, passwords or Google ID to log in.

Bitium enables central visibility of current identity and access rights for all the applications and all layers of security. This allows ease of use since all things can be considered, right from changing access, and their rights, auditing password security and usage. Bitium helps integrate new cloud-based apps into a business and enables businesses to update its existing users and their rights through their solutions.

Their preset pricing packages can be altered to fit your business’s unique needs. So you are not paying for something that you are not using. Flexibility is one of the biggest virtues of this Identity management provider.

Bitium has come a long way since 2012. Bitium has expanded its product portfolio beyond single sign-on. Their holistic approach makes them the ideal identity management platform for enterprises and small businesses. The company has grown to more than 40 employees and has over 250 satisfied customers and they continue to avail Bitium’s services. These customers are consistently posting growth, and with them, Bitium is also growing.
