“Most people who sneer at technology would starve to death if the engineering infrastructure were removed.”
–Robert A. Heinlein
It was discovered that there is a gap between research and reality at the construction industry. This is true, especially regarding information technology. To bridge the gap, DRAXware was established. Founded by Jianfei in 2007, the company’s solutions have been primarily based on years of research findings in the University.
DRAXware’s vision is to be a global leader in construction management software by changing the way construction thinks about software solutions. The industry is always trending and innovating. However, it is also lacking suitable solutions for many years now. DRAXware developed a high configurable solution– Uni-Engine and is based on innovative technology and brings the technological solution to the industry.
Uni-Engine is a development platform that is based on the research occurring at the university and all of DRAXware’s solutions are built on. This platform is forever evolving and undergoing technological developments that are demanded by the industry. DRAXware is also focusing its resources on new solutions built on this platform that is targeted to customers. These include Project Controls, asset management, materials management and project planning solutions that can leverage some of the existing data capture and project management solutions that it offers today to deepen its market penetration.
Uni-Engine is capable of configuring solutions that meet unique requirements of clients. With advanced data management capabilities that unify data between all systems, this universal solution can be configured to meet any company’s requirements. It enables DRAXware to tailor a solution to a specific customer or project in a fraction of time compared to traditional software development. While catering software solutions for analyzing, optimizing and reporting operations, it also provides tools to create more efficient business operations that eliminate paperwork for construction owners and managers who want to be in the business of construction.
The changing trends of the industry are met with DRAXware’s mobile solutions and new versions. This has been true with the company’s first project roll on. The project was one of the largest heavy construction companies in North America that implements ERP system and was facing the integration break down due to lack of tools for field material to enter data to their new ERP system. The client was in a difficult situation as it could miss the year-end financial cut off if the deadline was not met.
DRAXware came to their rescue with a customized solution that provided field data capture system and integrated with the new ERP and also the old ERP at the same time. It made the switching from old ERP to new ERP not only easy but also the implantation took about half their plan time and left a good window for new ERP seamless switching. With this, it embarked its journey to make innovation meet pragmatic solution.
The company is based on a partnership between advanced research and practical industry specific solutions and it continues in the spirit of partnership, believing firmly that DRAXware becomes an extension of their customers. With its customized solutions, it has been catering with information-intensive projects in industrial construction market including oil and gas, pipelines, mining, power generation and refining industries.
With DRAXware’s technological solutions, it has been able to reduce the yelling, headaches, and frustration experienced by contractors and owners. Although it faced certain challenges like convincing the industry to buy its solutions and educating the leaders with new concepts, new technology, and tools, DRAXware has grown to excel in its field. To bring out these solutions, there is a team of out-of-the-box thinkers. “We don’t like boxes so we assembled a team of ‘out-of-the-box’ thinkers,” says the CEO.
At DRAXware, the employees are trusted to do what is right and opportunities are created for them. Every employee knows that the company is research driven and so, everyone tries to be creative while delivering solutions to customers. With a flexible platform, creative employees find space to grow with their skills and willingness. Here, the employees can turn their jobs into a career.
Having an open mind and thinking out-of-the-box have led the team to bring out solutions and stay ahead of competitors. In a dynamic nature that the company runs on, there is always close interaction and working with customers, while also understanding their pains to makes the solution more suitable. Innovative technology, open-minded and dedicated employees have been a driving factor for its growth.
With the Uni-Engine technology, DRAXware is contributing to the global IT platform by bringing a change with customization development for easy configuration.
