COMPUTE SERVICES

Stratoscale’s KVM-based hypervisor resides at the heart of the Stratoscale’s solution and provides unified and complete virtualization for compute, storage and networking, with no need for third-party software. The hypervisor assures enterprise-grade virtualization to build a simple-to-manage, resilient and highly-available software-defined data center.Universal computing offers the flexibility to choose how to package and deploy workloads using VMs or containers. STORAGE SERVICES

Stratoscale offers comprehensive block storage capabilities that are native to the hypervisor, enabling IT to reduce latency and overhead and to increase throughput. The distributed, high-performance storage service stripes all I/O across each available storage device in the rack, such as HDDs and flash devices, to assure durability in case of failure. Storage functionality can be extended to take advantage of existing storage assets that already exist in the data center. All volumes are accessible from all the servers, enabling any node in the cluster to use the hyper converged storage even on nodes that do not have local disks. Volume-centric thin snapshots and clones preserve just delta between source volume and its snapshots.

NETWORKING SERVICES

Stratoscale features a native virtual networking function that manages the shared traffic capacity for storage, VM mobility and application traffic over the physical underlay network. It provides integrated QoS and automatic bandwidth allocation, as well as networking capabilities including virtual switching, routing, NAT, security groups and other L3/4 services. Ariel brings over twenty years of technology innovation and entrepreneurship to Stratoscale. After a ten-year career with the IDF, where he was responsible for managing a section of the Technology R&D Department, Ariel founded Passave, now the world leader in FTTH technology. Passave was established in 2001, and acquired in 2006 by PMC-Sierra (PMCS), where Ariel served as VP of Strategy. In 2006, Ariel founded Pudding Media, an early pioneer in speech recognition technology, and Anobit, the leading provider of SSD technology acquired by Apple (AAPL) in 2012. He holds numerous patents in networking, signal processing, storage and flash memory technologies.
