TripActions: Redefining corporate travel experience

TripActions: Redefining corporate travel experience

Happy travelers = Happy customers = Happy companies.

Traveling is all about being in the moment and enjoying the experience to the core but often traveling becomes all about planning and organizing rather than just feeling the wind go through your hair. Lets face it, this ruins the overall experience for a traveler.

The business travel market is estimated to be worth $1.5 trillion but most of the methodologies and systems are unequipped to meet the demands of the corporate customers. TripActions enters the space as the ultimate business travel management service that helps companies save time and money on employees’ work-related trips through artificial intelligence.

TripActions has partnerships with various airlines, hotels and rental car suppliers. It manages the negotiations that suit the corporate clients. They also have live customer support 24/7/365, to support their clients anytime anywhere.

Journey of TripActions

Businesses are often born out of necessities and the story of TripActions is no different. After experiencing several downfalls while traveling, Ariel Cohen and Ilan Twig founded TripActions in 2015 with the sole aim of providing world-class travel. Their travel management platform was a combination of data science, AI and user-friendly design to deliver the best experience for businesses and their employees.

In a few years, this Silicon Valley startup grew its business by opening offices in nine cities around the world and by offering top-notch services to major companies like Lyft, Lime and Allbirds. In a series of funding in recent years, TripActions is estimated to have raised $4billion. The company’s travel and technology festival “Traverse 19” which was held in San Francisco was attended by more than 900 enthusiasts.

Why TripActions?

What differentiates TripActions from the rest of the traditional booking platforms is their modern approach towards the travel business. The AI-driven technologies provide easy customization and offer employees, finance leaders and travel managers a unique experience.

The company statistics are proof of how many travelers opt for TripActions over other options. TripActions boasts a 90% adoption rate at the companies where it has been deployed. This reinforces the travelers’ trust in the company and points out to the ease of accessing the platform without switching apps and sites constantly to book and manage their trips.

Most travelers find it comfortable to book their trips on their own and TripActions has an intuitive platform that helps these travelers with on-call support which is available 24/7. Also, TripActions ensures that the traveler gets a notification in-case there’s a sudden need to carry something that was not mentioned in the itinerary.

TripActions has integrated artificial intelligence into their platform which vastly impacts the overall experience of the user as it analyses a user’s previous searches, booking patterns and other loyalty programs that align with the user’s company travel policy. TripActions reward program counts individual user points and miles which can be redeemed as Amazon gift cards or upgrades.

Secret behind the rapid growth

One of the main factors that contribute to the growth of the company can be attributed to the way in which it resolves a crisis. TripActions stands by its customers at all times and makes arrangements for their smooth journey.

For instance, if the traveler encounters any stress-inducing circumstance like the cancellation of a scheduled flight, the company intervenes and contacts the customer with a remedy and also keeps the employer in the loop about what’s happening. This is not a commonly followed practice in the industry.

The CEO believes that this problem-solving capacity is what attracts the customers most to the company. It is the sense of safety that the company provides that improves the relationship with the customer and what brings them back to the company every time.

A free fun-filled environment

TripActions was founded on a mission-driven culture and so far the company has built a stress-free environment where the employees are happy to come to work every day. An interesting fact is that the company is quite liberal on the number of sick leaves and paid trips that employees can take in a year.

According to the company, “Our goal is to build an environment where people are happy to come to work each day, allowing employees to be their true and authentic selves to operate at their maximum potential.”

TripActions promotes a company culture where employees are inspired to be creative and challenge the status quo to produce the best experience for their users. An employee review on Comparably reveals that employees are extremely happy with the company, their compensation, and their future outlook.

Meet the CEO

Ariel Cohen is a seasoned entrepreneur and TripActions is his second venture along with the co-founder Ilan Twig.  He had formerly founded the company StreamOnce, a business multimedia integration platform that was acquired by Jive Software for over $10M. Ariel also led product management in a senior leadership role at Hewlett-Packard. He earned his EMBA from Northwestern University –– Kellogg School of Management.

“TripActions enables you to build, manage and scale a world-class corporate travel management program with ease.”
