Synopsys technology is at the heart of innovations that are changing the way we live and work. The Internet of Things. Autonomous cars. Wearables. Smart medical devices. Secure financial services. Machine learning and computer vision. These breakthroughs are ushering in the era of Smart, Secure Everything―where devices are getting smarter, everything’s connected, and everything must be secure.
Powering this new era of technology are advanced silicon chips, which are made even smarter by the remarkable software that drives them. Synopsys is at the forefront of Smart, Secure Everything with the world’s most advanced tools for silicon chip design, verification, IP integration, and application security testing. The company’s technology helps customers innovate from Silicon to Software, so they can deliver Smart, Secure Everything.
Enterprise-scale speed, accuracy and agility with Synopsys Static Analysis (Coverity)
Synopsys Static Analysis provides deep full-path coverage accuracy and can support thousands of developers and quickly analyze large projects exceeding 100M lines of code. By offering integrations to key development tools and CI/CD systems, Synopsys enables AppSec testing at DevOps speed, and has helped thousands of organizations get to market faster with reduced cost and risk.
Security Control Design Analysis (SCDA)
Synopsys evaluates the design of your key security controls against industry best practices to determine if any are misconfigured, weak, misused, or missing.
Its experts review up to eleven key security controls to find system defects related to security controls that are not identified through other activities such as pen testing, DAST, or SAST.
The firm unearth vulnerabilities in your applications by looking beyond the typical canned list of attacks to model all the ways different types of threat agents might interact with your attack surface.
Threat modeling is not a one-size-fits all approach. Not all organizations share the same security risk profile, and not all hackers think alike or have access to the same system components. It models threats specific to your business and consider the types of attacks you are most likely to face.
Architecture Risk Analysis
An ARA enables you to find and remediate security problems earlier in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which is less expensive, invasive, and time consuming than waiting until code is written or QA tests are performed. However, even if you’re system is already built or deployed, an ARA can be immensely valuable.

Software Security for the Automotive Industry
Building safety-critical products is a priority to all car manufacturers. Whether it’s electrical, chemical, or mechanical, you need specific expertise to understand failure modes. Security is no different—especially with the continuously advancing threat to connected cars. The syndicate’s goal is to help the Automotive industry deliver a sustained software security initiative that provides continuous and comprehensive security risk identification and mitigation.
Identifying security risks in connected cars requires a thorough understanding of attackers, motivations, techniques, and tools. The institution provides cost-effective, scalable solutions to help you change and improve your processes and ensure you’re building systems securely.
Automotive Safety Verification for ISO 26262
Functional safety verification is one of the most critical issues for automobile development. Safety-critical automotive chips require compliance to ISO 26262 ASIL requirements, extending far beyond functional verification. New features in autonomous driving, advanced driver assistance, drivetrains, and active/passive safety systems rely on advanced SoCs, and complete, fully-documented safety verification of these components is critical for their acceptance into automotive systems.
Automotive safety verification must work in concert with functional verification, and requires new perspectives and approaches. Even if a feature has been implemented perfectly, and thoroughly verified to be in conformance to its functional specification, this is by no means sufficient for functional safety compliance—functional verification does not take faulty behavior caused by random defects that may occur during the lifecycle of the component into account. Functional safety verification explicitly models faulty behaviors caused by random defects, and verifies that the safety mechanisms built into safety-critical automotive SoCs properly manage these behaviors.
DesignWare IP for Wearable Infotainment Applications
Wearable devices bring technology into our everyday lives by enhancing the functionality of things such as glasses, shoes, and watches that deliver real-time feedback. These devices will play a major role in the expansion of the companies connected world but designing SoCs that go into these devices comes with significant design challenges such as how to extend battery life, minimize area and improve sensory components (i.e. touch, voice, audio and video).
Efficient data processing will be at the heart of these solutions and Synopsys' broad DesignWare® IP portfolio is optimized to tackle these SoC design challenges.
Dr. Aart de Geus : Chairman and co-Chief Executive Officer
Since co-founding Synopsys in 1986, Aart has expanded Synopsys from a start-up synthesis company to a global high-tech leader. He has long been considered one of the world's leading experts on logic synthesis and simulation, and frequently keynotes major conferences in electronics and design automation. Dr. de Geus has been widely recognized for his technical, business, and community achievements with multiple awards including Electronic Business Magazine's "CEO of the Year," the IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal, the GSA Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award, the Silicon Valley Engineering Council Hall of Fame Award, and the SVLG Lifetime Achievement Award. He serves on the Boards of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Applied Materials, the Global Semiconductor Alliance, and the Electronic System Design Alliance.
