For a while now, we’ve kept hearing reports about Apple designing a battery case for its latest range of iPhones. Out of the blue, these cases are available for purchase, as spotted on the company website. Priced at $129, the battery cases are available for XS, XS Max, and XR models in black and white colors.
The design is pretty similar to the previous battery cases launched by Apple that comes with a definitive ‘battery bump,’ but it’s certainly more tapered in this case. There’s another catch. Apple has made these cases specifically for those models mentioned; meaning an iPhone X user can’t use an XS case despite having similar dimensions.
Since the cases are compatible with Qi-certified chargers, you can still wirelessly charge your phone. In terms of extended battery power and life, Apple still hasn’t announced how big the extra battery pack is. But so far we know that the battery is going to be extended up to 21, 20, and 22 hours with internet on XS, XS Max, and XR, respectively.
Additionally, the battery case directly integrates with the iOS mobile platform so that users can check the battery life on the case at the Notification Center, just like connected AirPods and Apple Watch integrations.
