Microsoft and Samsung have announced a partnership to bring the mobile devices and PCs closer together. The companies made a joint announcement at the Galaxy Unpacked event which is taking place at the New York City.
Microsoft CEO SatyaNadella came on stage at the event. He said that the company’s ambition was to help people be more productive on any device and anywhere. Microsoft wants to introduce better and more intelligent experiences for Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+.
Microsoft in a statement said: “We are excited to announce that the new Samsung Galaxy Note10 phones will help you get more done right out of the box, natively integrated with best-in-class productivity apps and services from Microsoft including OneDrive, Outlook, Your Phone app with Link to Windows, and access to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.”
Your Phone app
The partnership can be seen in action when as the Galaxy Note 10 comes out. The mobile phone will come with Your Phone app which will allow a user to access recent photos, texts, notifications and mobile apps from a PC. This will allow a user to continue the flow of work in case they switch between devices. A user will be able to connect his/her Galaxy Note 10 to a PC via Link to your Windows setting.
OneDrive
The Galaxy Note 10 is also getting native integration of OneDrive. This integration will make it easier for users to back up and share their photos and files from multiple devices.
This kind of integration will be widely seen in other Samsung devices in the near future following the announcement of the partnership between the two tech moguls.
