The OnePlus 7 Pro recently received the OxygenOS 9.5.9 update with new features and camera improvements, but that update does not include a patch for the random shutdown or a reboot issue.
The OnePlus 7 Pro product comes with a QHD+ resolution and refresh rate of 90Hz, 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED display panel. It is powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with three RAM and storage configurations that max out at 12GB/256GB. At the back, it sports a 48MP+16MP+8MP combination. The 16MP and 18MP sensors have wide-angle and telephoto lenses.
According to one report, some OnePlus 7 Pro mobile users have complained that their smartphones are randomly shutting down. They had to hold down the volume up and power buttons to restart it. In other words, they had to do a reboot in order to get back their smartphone in working condition.
There are over 100 complaints on a single thread of the OnePlus Community forum. Some users have also made separate forum posts to highlight the issue. OnePlus has already acknowledged the existence of the problem and promises to fix it soon. The random shutdown bug can temporarily be fixed by rebooting the phone in fast boot. It is expected that OnePlus will roll out this specific update in the coming weeks.
