A failed startup's CEO joins Apple to build home products

Apple has reached out with an exciting offer for Sam Jadallah, the founder of home security startup- Otto. Unfortunately, the tables haven’t been so good for Otto that was selling smart locks for $700, but went bankrupt and left employees out of jobs. Now, Apple has reached out to Jadallah to create a new smart home initiative.

The gadgets from Otto have caught the eye of the iPhone maker simply because it is something that Apple would design. Otto’s smart locks are designed meticulously, where the exterior design doesn’t attract too much attention, but invokes an aura of luxury. This makes it quite clear that Apple is stepping into a new smart home security initiative.

So far, most of Apple’s HomeKit devices have been built by other manufacturers, with the exception of the HomePod speaker. When compared with Google Home and Echo, both these speakers have advanced in controlling things around the house than the HomePod. Although the HomePod is a good speaker, Apple is working on making it smarter. By hiring Jadallah, it’s clear that Apple is set out to improve its home ecosystem.

There hasn’t been any official confirmation on the post offered to Jadallah. But, he has already changed his place of occupation to Apple on his LinkedIn page. You can expect some improvements in Home products soon!
