Wyze adds a new feature to its security camera

wyze added panning feature

There are innumerable security cameras coming our way; to be different among the others Wyze came up with something new.

Wyze products are alike Nest or Canary or Netgear Arlo and there is nothing new but this time they have brought something new to their customers and that is ‘panning’.

The Wyze Cam Pan is 50% costlier than its predecessor, bringing the cost up to a whopping $30. This panning feature gives you a 360-degree view of a room, on top of the built-in 120-degree fisheye. As per the information leaked by Wyze, the device is capable of scanning full circle in three seconds.

Via the app, panning is possible with a swipe of the screen. The app also contains motion tracking which is an enhancement over the first generation device, panning the camera as it spots moving objects.

The camera shoots 1080p video at 15 fps and can do up to 8x digital zoom. Everything feels like a bonus with this device for $30 and the price is for 14 days of free video storage on AWS, a nice addition that a number of significantly more expensive competitors no longer offer.
