Opera's new Android Mobile Browser attracts Ethereum Blockchain Enthusiasts

The Opera community is planning to launch updated mobile browser software for Android devices with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet. The wallet, as of now, will only be able to store and trade Ether (token powering the Ethereum blockchain network). The browser is still in private beta, however; the browser maker is inviting new users to join.

This new update is a  big relief to the users and the Dapp (Decentralized app) developers, wherein, the users no longer have to open a new browser or download specific apps to trade (send, receive, and pay) cryptocurrencies, instead, they could simply use the toggle on the opera web browser installed in their mobile Android devices. This news is definitely a useful announcement for the Dapp developers, as this new browser functionality will let the users interact more with the apps built on the Ethereum platform. The update, hopefully, will also greatly solve the lack of exposure that the decentralized apps possess in the blockchain community.

Charles Hamel, the product lead on Opera Crypto, explains the idea of infusing cryptocurrency-related functionality in its browser software as: "We believe the web of today will be the interface to the decentralized web of tomorrow…By becoming the first major browser to open up to Web 3.0, we would like to contribute to making the internet of the future more accessible”.

The company, earlier this January, had also introduced cryptocurrency-miner protection functionality in its browser.
