Jasa Marga builds new IoT laboratory to challenge the technological transformation

PT Jasa Marga Tbk has started developing its own internet of things (IoT) laboratory in its past Jakarta-Tangerang branch office in Jakarta. This move is taken by the company to be part of Industry 4.0 era.

The laboratory is supposed to be the hub of research and technology development as revealed by Alex Denni, Jasa Marga’s director for human capital and transformation.

He further said, “The company must be ready to face the technological transformation in order to be able to survive in the digital era.”

IoT laboratory is designed to bring out new technologies and keep up with the present digital era. In addition to surviving, the company wants to facilitate its customers and boost the traffic monitoring system and social media comment center.

Jasa Marga now plans to work 245 kilometers of the newly decided toll roads in Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi by the end of this year.

The new toll roads include the Cengkareng-Kunciran (14.2 km), Kunciran-Serpong (11.2 km) and Serpong-Cinere (10.14 km), including the Jakarta-Cikampek II elevated toll road (36.4 km), the Pandaan-Malang road (38.49 km) and the Gempol-Pandaan (1.6 km). (hen)
