When it comes to the graphics card, it’s been a winning race for Nvidia that’s been manufacturing gaming cards and IT services for all needs. But now, AMD has upped its game with the launch of Radeon VII. This GPU is certainly competitive to RTX 2080 from Nvidia. Announced at the CES, the AMD Radeon VII uses the first 7nm graphics chip by the company.
At the launch, AMD said the second-gen Vega architecture in the graphics card offers 25 percent more performance. It comes with the same power as the previous Vega graphics. The launch was showcased on Devil May Cry 5 at 4K resolution. The card comes with frame rates that are higher than 60 fps along with ultra settings. AMD says it has a terabyte-per-second of memory bandwidth.
Speaking about the specifics, the Radeon VII comes with 16GB of HBM2 memory and 1 TB/s memory bandwidth. It has 60 compute units and 3840 stream processors running at up to 1.8GHz, along with 4,096-bit memory interface. Although AMD didn’t showcase the card with many existing games, it assured players a 35 percent performance boost in Battlefield V and a 25 percent boost in Fortnite.
AMD announced that the Radeon VII will start shipping on February 7 priced at $699.
