Google is adding more exciting features for download pages.
When Google introduced the ability to download pages for reading offline in Android last December, now it is planning to add more features to make it more interesting and useful.
Google has made it an easier way for its users- Firstly; you must make a long-press on link you are looking for and just tap the new ‘Download Link’ option. This will make it easy to build up a queue of articles, say for example- if you’re reading a Wikipedia article with a ton of links – to access when you have low data connectivity.
Secondly, if you trying to connect to chrome page while you’re offline, you can tap on Download Page Later to have it loaded as soon as you regain connectivity, which could come in handy for subway riders with intermittent connections. And finally, now you will get to see the new tab page showing articles that you have downloaded with a new offline badge.
This is just trying to make Chrome into a bonafide offline reader. They’ll also come in handy for areas with poor data connectivity, and make webpage-saving apps like Pocket and Instapaper feel a little redundant. The features will be out with the latest version of Chrome on Android – It will take some time to arrive on iOS.
