With Kyndryl, the leading provider of IT infrastructure services in the world, Grupo Romero, one of the most significant corporate groups in Peru, keeps accelerating its IT transformation.
As part of a recent service agreement expansion, the two parties decided to update and move mission-critical apps to the cloud as well as change Grupo Romero's enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform across 14 of its portfolio firms in Peru and Latin America.
Grupo Romero has been adapting for 126 years to the demands of a quick-changing market, embracing new technology and putting in place IT systems that support effective operations and productive business outcomes in support of Peruvians and other Latin Americans. For several years now, the Group's Technology team has been upgrading its corporate IT architecture and service model to strengthen technological governance, boost business culture, maximize resources, and secure its position as a leading technology pioneer in the country.
In order for its portfolio companies to operate independently and customize their individual technological transformations to address industry-specific challenges and demands, Excellia, the centre of excellence of Grupo Romero, relied on Kyndryl to lead the decentralization of the group's IT Operating Model. Formerly, Excellia - Grupo Romero was running around 2,000 servers and just one instance of ERP, which contained information from its firms spanning more than 30 years.
“We are honored to help advance Grupo Romero’s IT modernization efforts and help its portfolio companies innovate for a more digital future. Our objective is to provide our clients with valuable solutions that meet and exceed their expectations,” said Rodolfo Armellini, Managing Director of Kyndryl Peru.
