SAP Innovates in Latin America with the Introduction of SAP.iO and the Growth of SAP Labs

SAP makes huge investments in order to encourage innovation among Latin American business sectors.

SAP has made two pertinent investments to encourage more innovation among Latin American businesses. This statement commemorates both the 50th anniversary of SAP and the company's 28-year commitment to assisting in the expansion of businesses throughout Latin America.

The initial investment will go towards SAP Labs Latin America's third expansion, which will take place in So Leopoldo, Brazil, where the company has been based for 16 years. This location is one of just 14 SAP Labs centers worldwide and the first and only one in all of Latin America. A new facility that adds roughly 850 people to SAP's campus and 200 indirect jobs was built thanks to a 35 million euro investment made by SAP.

The opening of the first SAP.iO Foundry in the area was also announced by SAP. The company's global network of nonprofit, external start-up accelerators is called SAP.iO Foundries. It offers technical and marketing assistance to help start-up businesses get off the ground. One of the biggest industries in the area, agriculture, will be the focus of SAP.iO in Brazil. Furthermore, the accelerator will have a virtual presence in the area and be situated in So Leopoldo.
