Casa PZ by mf+arquitects integrates harmoniously with its surroundings, offering a serene retreat by the Jurumirim dam in São Paulo.
Casa PZ, designed by mf+arquitects, is a visually arresting weekend home in São Paulo that blends in perfectly with the surrounding natural environment of the Jurumirim dam near Avaré. This 1,253-square-meter architectural marvel blends indoor and outdoor life to offer its occupants a peaceful haven.
A central entrance hall with exposed concrete walls and natural wood muxarabi doors maximizes the use of available space in the T-shaped layout. A tent made of concrete enhances the play of light and shadow, producing a dynamic atmosphere. Wooden doors that retract to connect the kitchen and living room encourage adaptability and improve social interactions.
Perfect for an unmatched outdoor living experience, the gourmet area is located at the end of the central block and boasts breathtaking views of the pool and dam. Additionally, the house also features a master suite, children's suites, and a TV room, ensuring a clear division between social and private spaces.
Constructed with concrete and wood, the house highlights the natural appeal of the materials while blending in with the surroundings. The construction method of glued laminated timber allowed for a quicker and more environmentally friendly building process. The home is completed by carefully chosen furniture and a deliberately planned lighting system, guaranteeing that it meets functional and aesthetic needs while preserving a strong sense of connection to its surroundings.
