Microsoft has introduced its largest keyboard update in thirty years, introducing an AI key for Windows 11 PCs, allowing users to use Microsoft's Copilot AI tool.
The biggest improvement to Microsoft's keyboards in thirty years is the addition of an artificial intelligence (AI) key, the company stated. Users of newly purchased Windows 11 PCs will be able to access Microsoft's AI product, Copilot, using the key. Microsoft owns a sizable portion of OpenAI, the AI that powers Copilot's features. It included AI in other products in 2023, such as Bing Search and Microsoft 365.
Copilot helps users with a variety of tasks, such as creating images, sending emails, and searching. The business states that the new keyboards should be available in February. Microsoft will showcase a few devices with the Copilot key at the CES trade show in Las Vegas starting next week.
When Copilot was integrated with Office 365 products, such as Teams, Word, and PowerPoint, it was able to compose emails, create presentations, and record and summarize meetings. Even though Windows 11 users can already access Copilot by pressing the Windows key + C, the new key shows how much value the company placed on this particular function and how it can draw customers in and connect them to all of their various products.
Google, the world's biggest search engine, uses a type of artificial intelligence known as Bard. However, ChatGPT, a powerful AI tool, was first introduced by Microsoft's partner OpenAI in 2022, which prompted rivals to quickly create their own versions. Copilot is based on OpenAI's GPT-4 large language model.
