Google has secured a noticeable role as the "official AI sponsor for Team USA" at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, showcasing its advanced AI technologies to enhance the viewing experience. In collaboration with NBCUniversal, Google will prominently feature its AI-powered tools throughout the Olympic broadcasts starting July 26th.
One of the standout integrations includes Google Maps' 3D views of iconic venues such as Versailles, Stade Roland Garros, and the Aquatics Centre. Viewers will be treated to immersive experiences and insights about the events happening at each location, utilizing Google's Immersive Views feature.
Moreover, announcers and commentators will incorporate Google Search AI Overviews into their segments, aiming to provide instant answers to Olympic and Paralympic-related queries. This initiative is part of Google's broader effort to showcase the capabilities of its AI platforms in real-time information delivery.
Comedian Leslie Jones will also be included, utilizing Google's Gemini AI to learn new sports and participate in scripted activities. Additionally, five Olympic and Paralympic athletes will engage in social videos and late-night promos, demonstrating the practical applications of Google Lens, Circle to Search, and Google Maps Immersive View in exploring Paris.
Google's initiative marks a significant integration of AI technology into a global sports event, promising a blend of innovation and entertainment for viewers worldwide.
