Geekplus unveils first pallet-to-person automation system for frozen warehouses to enhance efficacy, capacity and security of cold chain.
Geekplus, the world’s leading global warehouse robotics company, has introduced the world’s first pallet-to-person system, which is created specifically for automation in frozen and chilled warehouse areas. This game-changer technology that is in action at JJCL’s flagship cold storage facility of 2,700 sqm, allows for hands-free, effortless pallet movement between cold temperatures of – 18°C to warm temperatures of +5°C.
This gives a boost to the industry, in terms of automation of cold chain logistics, as it is an area that has had problems because of extreme temperatures. The SkyCube system in place at Geekplus uses frost-resistant robots alongside high-speed lifts that are controlled from one unified software platform in order to run non-stop in subzero conditions.
Cold chain logistics is no longer an exception from automation. It’s the next frontier”, said Liu Kai, Head of System at Geekplus. The multi-temperature compatibility of the system is changing the face of food, pharmaceutical, and grocery warehouses in efficient and reliable inventory control.
The implemented automatic system has increased the storage capacity in JJCL by 70%, enhanced efficiency in picking by 90%, and has achieved 99.99% in terms of accuracy. Notably, it increases worker safety by eliminating human exposure to extreme cold by the full automation of cold zone handling.
When the demand of the cold chain logistics increases, Geekplus’ automation innovation encompasses a scalable model for 3PLs, distributors, and pharma companies to tackle the labor issues and operational risks. This venture marks a radical change in warehouse automation, benchmark for warehouses.
