Aston Martin releases its last fossil-fuel-powered V12 Vantage before going all-electric

Aston Martin is calling time on its V12-powered Vantage with one last hurrah. The iconic British sports carmaker unveiled the latest Vantage with a 690bhp V12 engine at its heart. The new V12 Vantage is limited to 333 units, with the first models delivered to customers in spring 2022.

At first glance, the new V12 Vantage looks like a beefier version of the standard V8-powered model. The new V12 Vantage is wider at the front than the V8 variant by 40mm. The car also features a large rear wing and rear diffuser for increased downforce and comes with stylish 21-inch alloy wheels. The sports carmaker claims the new aerodynamic improvements on the V12 Vantage adds a whopping 204kgs of downforce when the supercar is traveling at its blistering top speed of 322kmph.

The final variant of Aston Martin’s famed V12 engine is the same quad-cam, 60 degrees tilt 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged, 12-cylinder behemoth that powers the brand’s DB11 and DBS, but now is tuned to produce a mind-boggling 690bhp and 753Nm of torque, making this iteration of the V12 Vantage the most powerful yet.

With a reworked eight-speed ZF gearbox and mechanical limited-slip differential, the car can reach a 100kmph in 3.4 seconds and reach a claimed top speed of 322kmph, making it the fastest V12 Vantage yet come out of Aston Martin’s stable.

Aston Martin plans to launch the brand’s first fully-electric vehicle in 2025 and has previously said that from 2026 all-new car lines will have an electric variant.
