Nissan's updated Magnite brings refreshed styling and a revamped interior, maintaining its competitive edge in the sub-4 metre SUV segment.
Nissan India will be launching the highly awaited Magnite on October 4, which will be the model's biggest update since it debuted in 2020. By early 2024, more than one lakh magnites would have been sold; it is a top performer in the sub-4-meter SUV market.
New alloy wheels, updated bumbers, and updated headlight and tail lamp designs are among the minor cosmetic modifications expected for the impending facelift edition. The most obvious improvements will be made to the interior, with only minor outward adjustments. It will likely to have a larger touchscreen, an X-Trail-inspired instrument cluster overhaul, better seat upholstery, and an upgraded safety package with six airbags.
The Magnite's mechanical systems will remain the same: a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-liter turbocharged version, both of which provide dependable performance. The turbocharged engine produces 99 horsepower and 160 Nm, while the normally aspirated engine produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm. There will be three different transmission options: CVT automatic, AMT, and five-speed manual.
In comparison to competitors such as the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Tata Nexon, Nissan's cost-conscious approach will likely to maintain the Magnite's competitiveness. It is expected that Nissan India would debut two new models in the early part of 2019 after the Magnite, one of which will probably be a rebadged version of the new Renault Duster.
