Before Stellantis was formed at the beginning, PSA Group, French automaker thought of releasing its Peugeot brand in the Unites States by 2025. Since the announcement of merger, Stellantis has not revealed anything about Peugeot being launched in the U.S.
Instead of expanding the market, the company is planning to shift its focus on its already existing brands, along with Chrysler, Fiat and Peugeot. After the brand was formed, it was thought that the automaker will abandon the plan of Groupe PSA to introduce the Peugeot brand in the US marketStellantis NV is right now the fourth largest automobile brand in the globe and is already established in the US market.
Other models of Stellantis will definitely be inspired by Peugeot although it’s not being launched in the US. For instance, Alfa Romeo will start production of the Tonale compact crossover later in 2021, whose platform is expected to be the same CMP found in the Peugeot 2008 subcompact crossover. Stellantis is focusing on streamlining the entire group operations across the world. The brand is planning to concentrate on the specific brands for specific markets where the respective automobile brands are strong.
