Big Data and Analytics Conference 2015 AT UCLA Anderson

UCLA Anderson School of Management’s Center for Management of Enterprise in Media, Entertainment & Sports (MEMES) and the Easton Technology Management Center will present Big Data: Big Impact on Friday, November 20, 2015. This one-day interactive conference event will bring together a cross section of industry experts and UCLA Anderson faculty who are shaping and defining the big data conversation.

Bob Lord, president of AOL, will be the featured speaker of the conference. General session panels will explore a variety of relevant topics including big data solutions for big impact, data analytics and the entertainment value chain and emerging trends in Big Data.

"The only way to excel in today's tech landscape is with an open, flexible platform that embraces the dynamism of consumer behavior,” notes Lord. “Data, and critically open data, is the key to success as the physical and digital worlds continue to converge."

The Big Data: Big Impact conference aims to teach how data-driven capabilities and technology solutions provide companies insight into their customers, How to leverage data insights into actionable business strategy, How to identify the right technology solutions to maximize business and Key emerging trends in big data that will continue to evolve business in the coming years.

It is spanning content creation, audience measurement, monetization, marketing, finance and more,” explained Center for MEMES Faculty Director Professor Sanjay Sood. “At the Center for MEMES we stay on the pulse of emerging trends, providing the academic framework and industry relevant insights to enable MBA students and industry executives to understand how to integrate big data tools and strategies for business success.”

“Big data provides businesses new ways to answer strategic questions and develop a competitive advantage,” says Easton Technology Management Center Faculty Director Associate Professor Guillaume Roels. “With big data, businesses can base their decisions on analytics, and not just on experience. Many emerging business models, such as the smart home, the connected car, and the sharing economy, are feasible because of big data.”

Big Data: Big Impact is part of Big Data Week, one of the most unique global platforms of interconnected community events focusing on the social, political, technological impacts of big data. It brings together a global community of data scientists, data technologies, data visualizers and data businesses spanning six major commercial, financial, social and technological sectors.
