TON Blockchain Launches Gasless Transactions with New Smart Wallet Standard

The W5 Smart Wallet Standard Enables Easier and More Accessible Transactions on the TON Blockchain.

TON blockchain has received a major update with the help of gasless transactions possible due to the release of the W5 smart wallet standard. In cooperation with the non-custodial wallet Tonkeeper, the new standard enables users to transact without owning the native token toncoin, thus, simplifying newcomers’ entry to the network.

The W5 Smart Wallet, initially created by Tonkeeper and now officially adopted as a standard by the TON Core team, facilitates transactions using USDT for transaction fees and Notcoin for gas fees. This development significantly lowers entry barriers for users, enhancing the accessibility and usability of the TON blockchain.

Oleg Andreev, CEO of Tonkeeper, highlighted the innovation, stating, "The W5 Smart Wallet has pushed the boundaries of what's possible on the TON blockchain. The TON Foundation emphasized that the new standard not only simplifies transactions but also includes advanced features like two-factor authentication, password recovery, and the ability to process up to 255 transactions simultaneously. This opens up various possibilities, such as transferring multiple NFTs, managing decentralized subscriptions, and enhancing security through wallet freezing and key recovery.
