The Noida-based company initiates its entry to implement clean energy services to boost employment, procurement, and reduce fuel imports.
NexGen Energia, a Noida-based energy solutions company, has revealed a plan to establish 5000 green diesel and compressed biogas (CBG) pumps across India over the next decade by investing Rs 15,000 crore. With an estimated cost of around Rs 3 crore each, these eco-friendly fuel stations are aimed at enhancing the country’s infrastructure for sustainable energy.
Chairman Piyush Dwivedi highlighted that beyond providing clean fuels, this initiative seeks to foster entrepreneurship and generate employment opportunities. It is anticipated to create approximately 5,000 new entrepreneurs and offer direct and indirect employment to over 10 lakh individuals. Moreover, the initiative aligns with NexGen Energia's vision to bolster India's self-reliance in the green energy sector, potentially curbing fuel imports by up to 30%.
"This significant expansion is not only evidence of our commitment to sustainability but also an encouragement for economic growth," stated Dwivedi. It is expected that the investment will attract significant capital into the Indian economy, further accelerating economic growth.
As part of a larger plan in the electric vehicle (EV) market, NexGen Energia's subsidiary, NGE, introduced affordable electric two-wheelers earlier this year. The company aims to surpass Rs 500 crore in sales by establishing more than 500 dealerships and creating about 50,000 employment opportunities in the EV industry. Future plans include the launch of electric trucks and buses, demonstrating NexGen Energia’s commitment to enhancing eco-friendly transportation opportunities in the country.
NexGen Energia makes a move with the initiative to play a crucial role in shaping a sustainable and eco-friendly environment for transportation while making significant developments.
