Arm and Docker have announced a strategic partnership which will help cloud developers build applications for cloud edge, and IoT environments seamlessly on Arm’s architecture. They aim to bring forth the first frictionless cloud-native unified software development and “delivery model for cloud, edge, and IoT devices” with this partnership.
Announcing the development, Mohamed Awad, Vice President of Marketing, Infrastructure Line of Business at Arm said: “Bringing together Docker’s comprehensive platform with Arm’s vast hardware and software ecosystem gives developers a simplified experience and delivery model for cloud, edge, and IoT applications.”
The world of connected devices is growing which increasing the requirements of cloud and edge. This collaboration between Arm and Docker will benefit developers in a big way through their offering which will be a common software pipeline for cloud, edge, and IoT.
David Messina, EVP of Strategic Alliances at Docker said: “Extending to the edge furthers our enterprise vision of providing one single platform for building and running all applications”.
Docker and Arm plan to demonstrate their new integrated capabilities at the DockerCon 2019, Docker’s container industry conference. The integrations will be available to around 2 million developers around the world who use Docker Desktop.
