Microsoft and Telstra Team Up For Sustainable Cloud-Based Solutions

Microsoft has extended its partnership with the Australian telecom major Telstra to focus on innovation in sustainable cloud-based solutions space. These solutions will cross multiple industry boundaries and improve decision making capabilities and customer experiences.

The extended partnership will help in deployment of smart devices on a larger scale. The companies will work together by combining Azure and Telstra’s network to support Australian developers and independent software vedors (ISVs). This will enable enterprises in building end-to-end digital processes and help create new business models that leverage data to maximise business opportunities and improve decision making.

Microsoft and Telstra will partner-up to leverage IoT, edge, AI and digital twin capability to build new solutions in the areas of telematics, asset tracking, smart spaces, and supply chain management. The partnership will also look to leverage Telstra Data hub to create important solutions for Australia.

Telstra CEO Andrew Penn said: “Today’s announcement with Microsoft formalises the several streams of work we are already collaborating on. The global scale of Microsoft’s platform, tools, and applications, together with Telstra’s network solutions, reliability and leadership, will drive new and unique solutions for Australia.”
