VMware to buy Boston-based CloudHealth for $500 million

CloudHealth, a startup based out of Boston is all set to be acquired by VMware. The Boston-company will provide VMware with its multi-cloud management platform that will allow VMware to explore the cloud computing scene. VMware announced its acquisition plan in Las Vegas during its annual industry conference.

With the variety of cloud services that are available on the market, no company is willing to completely commit to one particular cloud service provider. CloudHealth at this point helps one manage their multiple cloud services through a single platform which enables companies to administrate various company processes associated with many cloud services in a tidy way.

CloudHealth started in 2012 has 3000 customers that include big names like Yelp, Zendesk, Pinterest and Dow Jones. VMware will stand to gain from all the 3000 customers from the buyout too.

The cloud market has been rapidly growing and still has a lot of scope of spreading its branches. The multi-cloud scene is one of the cloud market’s best out-reaching branches. It befits all to work with multiple cloud service providers. According to sources, the deal will be finalized soon and will cost VMware in access of $500 million.
