Google Cloud has announced that Alphabet’s enterprise security company, Chronicle, is joining Google Cloud. With Chronicle joining Google Cloud, the latter will have a great security portfolio which will benefit many customers.
Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud CEO said: “Chronicle will join Google Cloud in the coming weeks, and we expect to complete the integration this fall. It’s incredibly exciting to have the Chronicle team join our organization and to bring our combined product offerings to our customers. We believe that together, we will continue to expand Google’s broader commitment to security and to providing the best security offerings to enterprise customers.”
Cybersecurity threats have been growing at a steady pace on the cloud and on-premise. It has become the top priority for every company in the digital age to proactively take steps to protect itself from cyber threats. With the inclusion of Chronicle to Google Cloud, the customers stand to gain from the enhanced capabilities. Chronicle was launched in 2018 and has grown to more than 100 employees in a year’s time.
Google Cloud’s security efforts have so far been appreciated widely by the likes of Forrester. Its efforts were most recently recognized in both The Forrester Wave for Public Cloud Platform Native Security, Q2 2018 and The Forrester Wave for Data Security Portfolio Vendors, Q2 2019.
