Cloudflare has announced that it is making its suite of products available to assist political campaigns in the U.S. The unique set of tools will help the campaigns ensure the reliability of their websites. Additionally, the internet giant is also making its solutions available to keep internal teams and data secure.
Commenting on this, Michael Kaiser, President and CEO of Defending Digital Campaigns said: “Political campaigns, like any organization, need a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity. Securing a candidate's website, their critical public-facing presence, and hardening access to key internal applications can vastly improve cybersecurity.”
The candidates can use the collective intelligence of Cloudflare’s global network which spans over 20 million internet properties to automatically deploy countermeasures to foil the latest internet threats. The qualified federal campaigns can receive a package of products for free by Cloudflare. The products are being provided in partnership with non-profit Defending Digital Campaigns.
There is undoubtedly a need for campaigns to secure their public-facing websites and also their internal data security due to the rise in the threats. Matthew Prince, Cloudflare CEO said that this offering from his company will provide solutions to not just the large campaigns but also the smaller ones that have limited resources.
