McAfee announced that there will be new and upcoming security support for Microsoft Azure services through its Cloud Security Platform products. These services include Skyhigh Security Cloud, Virtual Network Security Platform and Cloud Workload Security.
With this, McAfee says that Skyhigh for Azure solution is now available. Skyhigh is one of the original cloud access security broker (CASB) and was acquired by McAfee. The CASB solutions are typically situated on-premises or in a service provider's datacenters to support compliance and security protection.
While Microsoft provides security protections for its Azure datacenters, organizations that are using Azure still require their own security requirements. This is where McAfee Skyhigh is coming as an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for Azure.
Additionally, McAfee also described Azure support in its other solutions. Earlier this year, McAfee Cloud Workload Security was rolled out. And also the McAfee Virtual Network Security Platform will also be available for users by the end of this month.
Apart from McAfee, other security solution providers are also offering extended protections for organizations using Azure services. For instance, Symantec Web Security service extended its protection service to Azure and Office 365 recently.
