The cybersecurity company McAfee is prepared for the ascension of Peter Leav as the new CEO. He will be following Chris Young as the company’s top executive. Leav was the CEO of BMC software earlier. He will be beginning his stint at McAfee on February 3, 2020.
Peter Leav has had extensive leadership experience and a great record when it comes to leading large companies to growth. Prior to McAfee, he served BMC Software as its President, and Chief Executive Officer. Before BMC Software he served Polycom as its President, Chief Executive Officer and Director. He is currently on the boards of Proofpoint and Box.
In a statement, he said: “I am delighted to be joining McAfee at this exciting time for the company and am looking forward to working with the team to pursue the significant growth opportunities ahead. McAfee is one of the largest, most important cybersecurity brands in the world, with a commitment to innovation and excellence.”
Since spinning out of Intel three years ago, McAfee has become a leader in the cybersecurity industry. Having Peter Leav onboard will enable the company to pursue an IPO. There also have been rumors that the company may be looking for a merger or possibly an acquisition in the near future.
