The cybersecurity giant, Trend Micro has established its Singapore office to be the regional headquarters for the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) regions. The office located at the Suntec City Tower 4 is a swanky 12,000 sq ft office that will have new managed detection and response (MDR) security operations center.
Dhanya Thakkar, Trend Micro’s AMEA Vice President commenting on the development said: “With Singapore serving as the command post, we hope to foster closer collaboration between different teams in AMEA, serve our regional customers better, and tap unexplored growth opportunities the region has to offer.” He further called Singapore to be the perfect location for the regional headquarters citing that the country has a “strong vision for cybersecurity for the next 10 years.”
The new office at Singapore has an executive briefing center for important meetings with their customers and government officials. The newly established center will be part of the company’s MDR operations across North America, Europe, and South-east Asia.
Trend Micro also intends to groom the local talent. It is bringing its Certification Program in IT Security to Singapore. The graduates from South-east Asian countries with computer-science related majors are eligible to apply for the programme later this year.
