In collaboration with IIT Delhi, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India transforms audit efficiency with quality utilizing AI.
Girish Chandra Murmu, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, announced the integration of AI in public auditing, making a major advancement in methodologies. Murmu highlighted utilizing AI for the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) to enhance the analysis of public expenditure.
Murmu in a recent statement, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) emphasized the collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The partnership aims to modernize audit methodologies and other emerging technology.
"We are adapting to the evolving landscape of technology. By integrating AI, we aim to not only streamline but also elevate the quality and efficiency of our audits," Murmu stated, highlighting the SAI's dedication to adopting global best practices.
The initiative underscores a proactive approach by the CAG to embrace advanced tools for more perceptive audits and informed decision-making. By integrating AI, the SAI expects to boost its capabilities in analyzing vast datasets and identifying irregularities effectively.
