Adelholzener Alpenquellen Elevates Hygiene Standards with Krones’ Cutting-Edge Aseptic Technology

Boosting Production and Hygiene for On-the-Go Market Demand

Adelholzener Alpenquellen is taking its commitment to hygiene and quality to the next level with the implementation of Krones’ advanced aseptic technology in its production lines. The renowned beverage company, known for its spritzers and water, has integrated Krones’ technology into seven out of its eight production lines, ensuring unparalleled hygiene standards.

The company’s move to enhance its production capabilities aligns with the growing demand for on-the-go beverages. This strategic upgrade includes a returnable glass container line, installed in 2020, which will be complemented in 2025 by a new line dedicated to non-returnable containers.

The new Krones line, boasting an output of 36,000 bottles per hour, aims to boost the bottling capacities for spritzers and water. Adelholzener has chosen the Contipure Bloc P for this purpose—a highly hygienic block specifically designed for sensitive products. This system sterilizes preforms before they are blown into bottles, aseptically filled, and sealed.

The performance version, indicated by the “P,” uses a hot caustic solution for machine surface disinfection and steam for sterilizing product paths. This method ensures microbiologically safe filling with rapid cleaning and sterilization times.

Beyond the bottling line, Krones is also providing essential process technology equipment, including a Unipure product filtration system and a VarioAsept J flash pasteurizer. The first products from the new line are expected to roll off in the summer of 2025, with full acceptance planned for autumn.
