Australian Avocados calls for a stronger corn chip to complement their creamy guacamole, celebrating with innovative ‘chip-safe’ guac.
On National Avocado Day, Australian Avocados has launched a bold campaign, taking out a full-page ad in *The Daily Telegraph*. The ad calls on the corn chip industry to create a sturdier chip, addressing the frequent issue of chips breaking under the weight of guacamole.
Victoria Zourkas, Senior Brand Manager for Australian Avocados, highlighted the campaign’s urgency: “We’re urging the corn chip industry to produce a chip that can handle our delicious, creamy Australian avocados. It’s time for them to step up. The avocado is now in their court.”
To celebrate, Australian Avocados has teamed up with Taco King and Rico’s Tacos’ Toby Wilson to develop the world’s first ‘corn chip safe’ guacamole. Australians are challenged to test the new recipe at home and see how much guacamole their chips can handle.
Sesh Moodley, Executive Creative Tinker at Thinkerbell, shared his frustration with the current chip design: “The joy of guacamole is often marred by chips that crumble. We hope our campaign will inspire a better solution and prompt the chip industry to act.”
As of now, the corn chip industry has yet to respond to this innovative call to action.
