Whole Foods Market is set to launch a new quick-shop store model, the Whole Foods Market Daily Shop, in Manhattan's Upper East Side, with plans to expand to other parts of New York City.
Today, Whole Foods Market revealed that it will launch a new quick-shop store model. This format is intended to give urban neighborhood customers a quick and easy way to get the fresh and high-quality products they expect from Whole Foods Market. The Whole Foods Market Daily Shop is a new concept that will open on Manhattan's Upper East Side and then expand to other parts of New York City. The first store, at 1175 Third Avenue, is anticipated to open this year. Whole Foods Market intends to expand the format to additional American cities after its debut in New York City.
The quick-shop locations, which have an average floor area of 7,000 to 14,000 square feet, are around 25% to 50% less than an average Whole Foods Market store of 40,000 square feet. This allows for potential growth in densely populated areas. These locations will expand Whole Foods Market's reach to neighboring areas while bringing the retailer closer to its current clientele in busy centers like Manhattan, where proximity counts.
Despite being smaller, Whole Foods Market daily stores carry staples like seasonal produce, meat, seafood, prepared foods, bread, alcohol, supplements, regional specialties, and the Whole Foods Market brand. The upcoming Manhattan branch will have Juice & Java, offering coffee, tea, smoothies, sandwiches, soups, sweets, and juices.
