Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be available as a timed exclusive to the Xbox with the frame rate boosted to 60 fps for a game and VFX showcase.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are set to be one of 2023’s biggest games, especially with the delivery of its timed Xbox exclusivity right at the start of winter. Starfield and Redfall are suffering from 30fps performance issues, and MachineGames' creative director Axel Torvenius has shared with us that the game will run at 60fps on Xbox Series X, a significant improvement over other titles.
On the other hand, avowed, to release February 18, 2025 will aim for 30fps. "That's of course for a first person single player game, so we can get a little juicier with the VFX and lighting," he said, Obsidian’s art director, Matt Hansen, said.
However, this doesn’t prevent many gamers from wanting that smoother experience at 60fps. Sony’s launch of the PS5 Pro has been no different, with its ability to offer higher resolutions and frame rates sans compromising image quality.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a priority for running at 60fps on both Xbox Series X and S. “We have ambition to run the game at 60 FPS on both, so it feels like it was meant to be played that way,” said Torvenius.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, due available on December 9 and out a day early as a day one launch for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate players, is a demonstration of the reach gaming and VFX have to make for immersive experiences. This title also mentions how Xbox and PlayStation are still competing for the top spot in the gaming land scape.
