Netflix's new game studio in Southern California will improve and speed up game development.
In a press meet, Netflix announced that it is opening a brand new gaming studio in Southern California. With this America's subscription streaming service platform is taking a step toward building cloud gaming. The company also stated that it is on an intensive lookout for a cloud gaming offering. According to the reports, Netflix’s new opening of a game studio in Southern California will improve and speed up game development.
So far, the Netflix Games catalog has individual as well as titles based on games on well-known television series like Stranger Things. The company is currently offering 35 games to play, including Into the Dead 2: Unleashes, Spiritfarer, SpongeBob: Get Cooking, Stranger Things: 1984, Asphalt Xtreme, and more. Now, Netflix is aiming to improve its mobile gaming sector by moving to the cloud network.
Netflix Vice President of Games Mike Verdu has said that Netflix is currently working on 55 games. To strengthen its internal game development efforts, Netflix is also opening a studio in Helsinki, Finland. The company added 2.4 million new users in the third quarter of 2022; there is a significant increase in the number of users subscribing to the gaming platform.
