Capgemini will direct the European commission's next generation iot project

The Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative of the European Commission, which intends to reimagine and restructure the Internet for the third millennium and beyond, has chosen Capgemini to coordinate the Next Generation IoT project.

The goal of the initiative, known as IoT- NGIN, is to empower Europeans to effectively utilize the power of the Internet of Things (IoT)

IoT- NGIN, which is funded with €8 million from the European Union's Horizon 2020[3] research and innovation initiative, brings together 19 partners from business, academia, and the scientific community. It will run until September 2023.

The European Commission has designated the Internet of Things (IoT) as one of the technologies leading the digital transformation of the economy and having a beneficial impact on both European residents and enterprises. Capgemini is working on creative research concepts with industrial partners, research institutions, specialist Small & Medium Sized Businesses (SMEs), and Living Labs to bring the next generation IoT to life.

The IoT-NGIN project depends on innovation and cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, autonomous Machine to Machine (M2M) communications, 5G communications optimization, artificial intelligence, and secures Edge cloud in order to build an interoperable IoT foundation at the European level and to guarantee the security and privacy of data from connected objects.
