From Waste to Wonder: Figure 02's Leap in Humanoid Robotics

Figure 02, an innovative humanoid robot from California's Figure Robotics, is ready to transform household and commercial duties.

California-based Figure Robotics has unveiled Figure 02, its latest and most advanced humanoid robot. This new iteration of their technology represents a significant leap forward, blending enhanced hardware with sophisticated AI to tackle a variety of tasks in both commercial and, eventually, domestic settings.

Figure 02 comes with a suite of innovative features designed to improve its functionality and interaction. It employs advanced speech-to-speech technology, leveraging onboard microphones and speakers to facilitate natural conversations through custom AI models developed in collaboration with OpenAI. This allows Figure 02 to engage more seamlessly in human-like dialogue.

The robot is also equipped with a built-in vision language model and six RGB cameras, which enable rapid visual reasoning and interpretation of its surroundings. This advanced vision system enhances its ability to navigate and interact with complex environments effectively.

In terms of energy, Figure 02 boasts a custom 2.25 KWh battery pack, offering more than 50% additional energy capacity compared to its predecessor. This extended power supply significantly increases the robot's operational time, making it more efficient for extended tasks.

The enhanced computational power of Figure 02, with triple the AI inference capabilities of its predecessor, enables it to handle more complex and autonomous tasks. This significant upgrade in processing power supports its ability to perform a variety of advanced functions independently.

Recently, Figure 02 demonstrated its capabilities at BMW Manufacturing, where it was utilized for AI data collection and use case training. This achievement follows Figure Robotics’ successful $675 million Series B funding round and its strategic partnership with OpenAI. The introduction of Figure 02 represents a major step towards realizing Figure Robotics' vision of robots that not only boost productivity but also enrich everyday life.
