SMVITM introduces ‘Aikya’ and organizes IoT workshop to promote student innovation in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and smart technologies.
On May 5 the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, inaugurated its co-curricular wing ‘Aikya’ and initiated a three-day student workshop Smart Tech with IoT: Building Intelligent and Innovative Applications.
Dr Mamatha I who heads the AIML department presented ‘Aikya’ – a club committed to joining students together to discover growth areas in AI, Machine Learning and IoT. The name, which stems from Sanskrit, dresses up the idea of unity and knowledge-led innovation.
The workshop emphasizes the use of IoT in practical activities grooming students to develop intelligent systems with practical application. Megharani, the assistant professor, presented the list of agenda of the event highlighting the combination of IoT with emerging technologies.
Invited Chief Guest Vijay G H from DLithe Consultancy Services spoke about pivotal importance of IoT in determining the direction of AI based industries in the future and encouraged the students to take the lead from the front in the enhancement of technology domain.
Prof Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal and Principal Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat lauded the initiatives undertaken by the department in creating a vibrant, innovative academic space.
The event also paid tribute to the winners of the logo and naming contest held for ‘Aikya’. As IoT is forever changing the face of automation and intelligence, initiatives such as these demonstrate the institution’s commitment to delivering its students at the work place.
