Jonathan Ive- a name synonymous with Apple’s exquisite designs will be leaving the company after working with Apple for thirty years. Ive has worked on Apple’s most influential technological products including the iPhone. He will be heading out to establish his own design company.
His new company will be called LoveFrom, an “independent design company which will count Apple among its primary clients.” Although Ive will no longer be part of Apple, the company will still rely on him to work on “a range of products.” Marc Newson, another popular designer will be joining the new design venture.
Ive’s contribution to Apple has been immense. He has worked on a wide range of Apple’s IT services like the iPod, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, Macs, and more. His has also been an important contributor to Steve Jobs’ last dream of having the ‘spaceship’ Apple Park campus and has also worked on the designs of Apple’s physical retail stores.
He’s played an important role in Apple’s software design as well. One of Ive’s last works will be the designed video of the new Mac Pro coming out later this year. As departing words, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said, “After so many years working closely together, I’m happy that our relationship continues to evolve and I look forward to working with Jony long into the future.”
