Royal couple captivated by traditional dances and fashion as they promote mental health initiatives and youth empowerment in Nigeria's largest city.
During their much-anticipated visit to Lagos, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves immersed in the vibrant culture of Nigeria, where fashion and traditional dances took center stage. The royal couple's three-day trip to the West African nation aimed to promote mental health awareness among soldiers and empower the country's youth.
Upon their arrival at Lagos airport, Prince Harry and Meghan were greeted with a spectacle of traditional Nigerian dances, showcasing the country's rich cultural heritage. The couple couldn't help but applaud and smile as they witnessed the troupe's mesmerizing acrobatic moves. One particularly memorable moment saw a young dancer, barely five years old, exchanging salutes with Prince Harry from atop a performer's shoulders.
Accompanying Meghan's elegant white top was the traditional Nigerian aso oke, a beautifully patterned handwoven fabric wrapped around her waist—a thoughtful gift presented by a group of local women the day prior. The couple's attire served as a nod to the country's customs and traditions, adding a touch of cultural significance to their visit.
In addition to experiencing Nigeria's vibrant dance culture, Prince Harry and Meghan also visited Giants of Africa, a local charity organization that utilizes basketball to empower young people. There, they were treated to another captivating display of dance before announcing a partnership between the organization and their Archewell Foundation.
