Meet the leader behind the success of Altoros
Renat Khasanshyn is CEO at Altoros, as well as a cofounder of Etherisc and Venture Partner at Runa Capital. Most recently, he led the inception of insurance practice at Altoros together with its key customers—Allianz, Allstate, and Liberty Mutual—focusing on canonical use cases of blockchain, fronting, reinsurance, and insurance securitization (catastrophe bonds). Renat cofounded Altoros, a 350+ employee strong software and research laboratory in the area of distributed databases, container orchestration, and developer marketplaces. Renat began his career in 2001 as a software engineer at a regulated insurance intermediary in Tampa, Florida. As VP of Engineering at Primed, he was involved in building one of the first online distribution portals in the insurance industry, giving uninsured consumers in the US same-day access to a network of 30,000 doctors. In the past, Renat has been selected as a finalist for the Emerging Executive of the Year award by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council and once won an IBM Business Mashup Challenge. He is also a founder of Apatar (an open-source data integration toolset), founder of the Silicon Valley NewSQL User Group, and a cofounder of the Belarusian Java User Group.
